* 2 large eggs, room temperature

* 1 teaspoon baking soda

* 1 tablespoon Cook's vanilla

* 12 oz bag Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. In a large bowl or stand mixer, cream together the Crisco and both sugars until creamy.  Don't whip.

  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well on low speed.

  4. Scrape bowl.  Add salt, baking soda, and vanilla, and mix until blended.

  5. Add flour, one cup at a time, on low speed. Don't overbeat!

  6. Add the chocolate chips and stir until completely incorporated.

  7. Drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper. (Donna uses a 2 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop.) LIGHTLY flatten the tops.

  8. Bake for 6 minutes on the top shelf.

  9. Turn the tray, and place it on the bottom shelf.

  10. Bake for another 5-7 minutes, when the edges are lightly browned and the middle still isn't set.

  11. When the cookies can retain their shape, move to a rack.
